The team is doing so well this year! It's already the second weekend of the tournament and the Ghosts are still alive! Which means that Tiana and the rest of the cheerleaders aren't done yet! There's always an extra practice when there's a game like this coming up!
And this other practice went really long! So long that its dark out when Tiana's finished....and by the time she realizes how late it is, all her fellow cheerleaders have left! Tiana's friend Brad was supposed to pick her up earlier, but now he's nowhere to be found.
It's way too far to walk, plus she would have to pass through some dangerous neighborhoods to get to her parent's house in the suburbs. So her heart beats a sigh of relief when someone pulls up to offer her a ride. Now Tiana is no dummy. She's still in high school, but she's about to graduate with honors. She's a smart girl, smart enough to know not to take rides from strangers. But he seems nice. And his car looks sort of expensive so he can't be too bad. It's better than staying out any longer. She knows her parents will ground her if she doesn't get home in time. "Come on hop in!" he says with a smile as he gets out and opens the passenger door for her. Tiana smiles back. He's really nice and kinda cute. Plus she's not getting bad vibes. Tiana always trusts her intuition. She climbs in the car, grateful she has a ride.
